The Story Behind the Name

Once upon a time, the Spanish journalist Nuria Roca Granell hosted a morning radio show called "Lo Mejor Que Te Puede Pasar" or The Best Thing that Could Happen to You, an ambitious name for a set that aired between 6am and 10 am, when most people are dreading getting up to get to work.

Yet, Roca Granell won her audience over with good cheer and her entire team was hilarious.

One day, ELLE Magazine Editor Cristina Mitre came on the show. They opened with the usual introduction and then asked her: “How are you?” And, she responded: “Pletórica.”

I’ve been thinking about that word and its meaning ever since.

What does it mean to feel pletórica?

A person, a landscape or a home can be pletórica – full of life, joy, energy.

Pletórica is plenitude.

It’s an attitude. It's our personal mission. It's our hope for you, your family and your home.

May you have plenty; may you recognize it and delight in it.
