Handpainted in a small family-run workshop in southern Spain, the Gemelas Fajalauza Round Serving Bowl in Blue features the traditional elements of Moorish art and architecture: vegetal motifs and geometric patterns.
In homage to its native home, this Fajalauza serving bowl features the pomegranate, or granada in the central motif. Two ripened pomegranates and foliage fill the well of the bowl. A pattern of concentric undulating circles resembling sea shells cover the rest of the interior. Palm fronds adorn the exterior of the bowl.
This bowl is a classic offering in that timeless combination of blue and white pottery and a testament to Spanish craftsmanship.
Faithful to its 500-year-old tradition, our Fajalauza artisans continue to use the motifs and techniques of their forebears. The commitment to the quality of the craft is a testament to its longevity.
While perfectly suitable for the dining table, the Gemelas Serving Bowl is sometimes used as an accent in a sitting room or even hung up among other decorative pieces.
Available in green, blue, purple or a custom color of your choice.
Hanging Your Fajalauza Item: A small incision in the foot of the bowl or plate allows for hanging. Our heavier items like lebrillo bowls require a wall mount.
